For those athletes who would rather not have a personalised specific coached plan. Mike is available to sit down with you and together formulate an outline of a training structure, that can then be used as a base for planning your racing and training season. This can work as a sounding board for ideas, you will not receive a coaching plan from this. For Bee Triathlon Coached athletes, this is already included.
Bespoke coaching services, specifically tailored towards an athlete’s desired goals. These build on each athlete’s individual starting point and take into account previous sporting history, injuries and any health issues. Sessions are regularly reviewed and plans adjusted based on feedback from the athlete. Mike likes to have regular contact with his athletes, and he does not limit the amount of contact an athlete can make with training queries. All coaching services are designed to ensure athletes gain an understanding of why sessions are in the programme and what the aim of each session is.
Mike is based on the edge of the beautiful Peak District. There is an abundance of excellent riding and running routes nearby, including some iconic cycling climbs. There are flatter areas too, perfect for TT bike familiarisation or to replicate specific race conditions. Sessions can be catered for individuals or small groups and will always be athlete focused with a specific aim and objective. If there is a specific cycling skill you are looking to develop, want some help on improving your transition skills or just want someone to organise your intervals, then a coached session could well be ideal.
Bee Triathlon Coaching organise two high volume triathlon training camps per year. One in late October / early November and one around Easter time. Training camps are held at Sands Beach resort in Lanzarote. Lanzarote is the perfect venue for some warm weather training. Home to one of the toughest Ironman races in the world, Lanzarote has an excellent climate for training, and the Island is hugely welcoming to triathletes. Mike has been using this resort for several years and knows of some excellent cycling and running routes – and also some fantastic coffee shops!
If you have a big race on the horizon and would be keen to have some experienced help to oversee all of your race day logistics and be around to support you throughout your event, it is possible for Mike to accompany you on race day. Mike has successfully supported a number of athletes this way and has helped ensure that race day is a success.
